People looking forward to this week’s Peterborough Beer Festival have been urged to be careful if they plan to drive the morning after they visit the event.
The 34th Peterborough CAMRA Beer Festival will begin at the Embankment and will continue until Saturday.
The SaferPeterborough Partnership has warned people about the dangers of exceeding the legal drink-drive limit and reminding them they could still be breaking the law by driving the morning after a night out.
In the UK, nearly one in six drink-drivers are arrested the morning after a night out and more than 100,000 drivers are convicted every year for drink-driving.
In June 2011, 34 people were arrested in Peterborough for drink-driving offences.
The beer festival takes place a short distance from both bus and railway stations.
