Despite the threat of industrial action by examiners, the driving test candidates scheduled for the November 30 test are being urged to complete their test on schedule.
This Wednesday, a strike has been called on by the members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union as part of the UK-wide 'day of action' against increased pension contributions for public service workers. According to chief executive of Driving Standards Agency (DSA), Rosemary Thew, not all examiners are members of the PCS union and the centre cannot be sure that those who are will not turn up for work.

Ms Threw said that they want the candidates to appear for the test to complete the practical tests, and theory tests would not be affected.
DSA has laid that if no examiner is available for a test, a new date will be rebooked automatically by DSA and the candidate will be sent details of the new test. Out-of-pocket expenses, if their tests are cancelled cannot be claimed if candidates fail to attend.
