In Lexington, a man faces several charges after an accident put three people in the hospital Monday evening.
According to police, a jeep crossed the center line and slammed head-on into a Volkswagen Beetle along Leestown Road just after 6 p.m. Both vehicles rolled several times after impact.
Samantha Arnold, of Georgetown, was driving the Volkswagen. She remains in critical condition at UK Hospital. A passenger in her car was also taken to UK Hospital suffering from injuries officials called non-life threatening.
Investigators say they believe the driver of the Jeep, Thomas C. Wright, was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana at the time of the crash. EMS took him to UK Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Police charged him with two counts of assault, DUI (second offense) and possession of marijuana.
