Road safety seminar for driving instructors in Durham

On Monday 17 October 2011, Durham County Council Road Safety Unit is running a second Driving Instructor Seminar.

Building on the success of a similar conference held in 2010 this year’s event has an impressive array of speakers including:

·          one of the leading experts in the world of fleet driver safety-- Dr Will Murray

·          DSA lead on their new syllabus-- Ian Holden

·         an expert in the evaluation of driver education programmes-- Beth Fylan

·          Durham County Councils Road Safety Manager and Chairperson of Road Safety GB. Road Safety GB is one of the leading road safety organisation in the country with the majority of its membership being made up of local government road safety units-- Alan Kennedy

·          Durham Constabulary Road Casualty Reduction Officer-- PC Dave Nixon

·          project lead for South Yorkshire’s Learn Safe Drive Safe scheme which is a support scheme for learner drivers in South Yorkshire-- Dave Lawson

·          driver-training officer who project manages Durham County Council’s Excelerate Scheme for post-test drivers-- Tony Flory

£40 is the cost of this event which includes a buffet lunch and refreshments. The event will be held at County Hall, Durham.

All these attending will be provided with a CPD certificate.
