Teenager Working for Driving School Becomes Youngest Truck Driver
Posted: 25 January 2011480 Days ago

A teenager who works for his parent's driving school is fast becoming one of the most learned drivers in the country as he has taken and passed the Heavy Goods Vehicle driving test.

Mark Hostick could already driver a car, forklift truck, tractor and moped before taking the HGV test, which he passed five days after his 18th birthday.

Mark's driving instructor, Duncan Garwell, who also gave him driving lessons in a normal car, is convinced that Mark is the youngest qualified lorry driver in the country.

He said "Mark did really well and we're fairly certain he's the youngest heavy goods driver in the country. It's going to be hard to beat. He had the pressure of knowing his family own a driving school and when I first took him out on the road he surprised me by how nervous he was. Driving a lorry is very different to driving cars around and I think it woke him up and did him a lot of good."
